Family Care Program

This program works with families in complex situations to care for and support their members or child in a way that enhances the families’ quality of life and family functioning.

Our Social Workers use a Family-Centred Model, and understand families are experts of their own experiences. Working with the families and support networks, we identify strengths and needs, and help to increase coping skills, strengthen relationships, and build a greater sense of well-being.

Counselling

GAPDI’Counselling Services are offered to individuals or families who have been touched by developmental disabilities, autism, conflict, mental health and addiction.

Our services are there to help individual , families and communities to understand themselves better, heal from the past traumas and create opportunities for the future. It is an opportunity to overcome life’s challenges.

Psychology- Behavioural Services

Behavioural Services aims to increase positive behaviours and replace behaviours of concern with more appropriate behaviours. People are often referred to Behavioural Services because they engage in challenging behaviour such as : aggression towards others(e.g, hitting, hair-pulling), self-injurious behaviours (e.g,. hitting one’s own head, scratching one’s own skin) disruptive behaviours (e.g., yelling, crying),noncompliance (e.g., refusing to participate in personal care ) and traumatic behaviours .
